Sketch installation - Scale

Concept
I am wanting to find newer ways to evolve the projected video installation. I will be exploring this by moving it from the flat plane of the gallery wall and into an method that is much more approachable. What is most important to me is being able to create set a mood in order for my audience to better engage with my subject matter. I will do this by creating an intimate environment that is quaint in nature but has a big topic.

Space
I will be using the Raw Space, primarily because of its size. I want to be able to have the viewer walk into one end of the space and within the darkness they will be able to see this small transparent box emanating light and a faint sound. This is meant to attract the viewers like a moth to a light bulb. Using the Raw Space works well for me because allows scale to be represented in comparison of this box to the black void of nothing. Similar to our solar system and and the space between the next closest.

Construction
For this first sketch, I will be addressing the intimate installation by using a smaller scale. I am using glass panels from four 8"x10" picture frames for the sides and then I created a platform to place them on. This platform will be constructed out of 9 wooden lath slats and will create a perfect square base with the dimensions of  10.5"x10.5" and 2 of the Lath slats will bind them together from the bottom.
I found that I had to create a groove within the face of the platform in order to embed the glass panels properly to eliminate the need for a lip. I used a clear acrylic adhesive and along the groove that I carved out and placed each glass panel into it. After letting that set, I then used a thinner acrylic adhesive to bond the glass together. For the reflective portion I had to use a half dome that I disassembled from a lamp, as the christmas bulb looked too much like christmas bulb and held no ambiguity. I created a base for it out of popsicle sticks to hold the hemisphere and the intended height.
